The Bouquet

Defiant
Yellow weeds gathered
In toddler
Hands may be
The most beautiful flowers
I’ve ever received.

Yes, indeed! Nothing more beautiful than a yellow flower in a child's hand.

A precious poem. A beautifully expressed truth!

not just a yellow flower, a DEFIANT yellow flower. about as defiant as that toddler, i'm guessing.

Oh yeah, she was definitely a defiant little one and kept me well-stocked with bouquets of dandelions during the spring and summer.

I've received dandelions from my young grandchild too. And I have said thank you! I know what you mean. Nice write.

They are, they are... and I would go so far as to say a child's loving heart is enough to transform even the weediest weeds into true flowers.

Tender and sweet! The innocence of youth and the beauty to see much in so little~ I think poets do that, we somehow keep an innocence eye, to capture the magic of the ordinary! Thank you for sharing your gift~
