Moonlight Minstrel

He plays at seduction like the moon,
His affections wax and wane.
The singer of a deceptive tune,
He plays at seduction like the moon.
When that troubadour starts to croon
The liar’s sweet refrain,
He plays at seduction like the moon,
His affections wax and wane.

Lyrical triolets with a touch of narrative are among the most natural of ideas in the triolet. This one balances both quite neatly.

The best triolets show a subtle narrative within the lyrical bounds. This one balances the two quite well.

This way lies madness for the maid who follows the man behaving like a lune or is that loon or buffoon? I'm sure it doesn't matter. What does is the capture here by moonlight of the infamous lethario!

This guy's appeared in a couple of villanelles over at my place.

Love the narrative, love how much is suggested by so little, love the rhythm and musicality of this.

I too love how musically lyrical this is Mary - very nice us of the form and I'm a sucker for anything to do with Luna (great photo as well!)

Oh Mary! I love this! Great comparison to the moon, and the waxing and waning affections.
