The Magic Within

There is no secret to overcoming adversity,
No need for a sorcerer’s incantations
Or wizard chanting over a cauldron
Brewing a potion to improve your fortunes.
Wear your faith like an amulet.
Allow it to strengthen your resolve.
Persistence, perseverance,
The power to rise above is already yours.
You simply have to believe.

true...there's already a lot of that magic within us..we just tend to forget it all too easily..

All does seem within our power, and your poem is a welcome reminder of how faith strengthens the resolve to make it so. Character building is often forgotten when a discussion of faith occurs. Unfortunately, the resolve often solidifies into stereotype and gets overtaken by infinite variety of tasks that life throws at us. Faith must evolve, I think, ever questioning judgements based on situations that colored it too restrictively.

Really nice affirmation resembling piece. The idea about the power of belief being stronger than magic is a great thought. Truly a message worthy of what fairy tales are and have always meant to me. Great job. Thanks

Thank you for this today. Just this morning I made a promise to myself to take better care of my mind, heart/soul and body.
I was letting bad habits, and negative thoughts get the better of me so I made a decision to hold fast to what I know is best for me. Coming across your poem today is adding to my determination to make my life a better one. Thanks.

I LOVE this one. Great writing and wonderful philosophy. Yes, we have the power within us, just takes us a while to know that:)

The closest person I had ever in my life had the philosophy "Rise above" and she advised me to do this many times. This philosophy made me a better person; and now that she is gone I tell myself this often. But sometimes I slip back into old patterns and do NOT rise above. Sometimes I just can't help myself. I very much liked your poem...and my memory that it triggered. Thank you.
