Ghost Walk

No Song to Me in the Numb Hours - Kenia Cris

I feel your presence
As I wander through the woods,
Your phantom hand entwined in mine.
In my mind I can see you
In a simple wooden chair,
A reluctant angel
Emotionally bound to this world
That no longer holds you,
A vision that lingers
For just a moment
Before slipping back into vapor,
Leaving the chair
Just as empty as my heart.

Very sad, but very beautiful! Fits very well with the prompt, I think!!!

A very cryptic and eerie piece, with many questions left unanswered in the readers mind... a sense of loneliness pervades.

This is beautiful, Mary. I felt hints of the same kind of feeling when I looked at the photo, but nothing gelled into words. I'm glad, because your words are perfect.

... I really like that ending, Mary.

This is so sad...I like that we chose the same picture ~

"Leaving the chair
Just as empty as my heart. "

A haunted presence is exactly what I wanted to picture in this collage. :)

Thanks for a great piece!

...an empty chair holds so much emotion in a photo. I know I am drawn to benches and antique chairs.

Well done, moving poem.

My wife calls me the emotional little bitch in the family, pardon the language but I can't give it up because it is just who I am....lol. I love these types of poems, the emotional value is high and truth is wrung out of great emotion....great poem, great horizontal writing...great span but equally great depth. Loved it.
