Arsonist

his words
were firebombs
to my kind-
ling heart,

his aggression
gasoline thrown
into an inferno,

reducing me
to ashes,

burned
to near nothingness…

scarred…

disfigured…

but still surviving.

~~~~~~~ This poem was inspired by a prompt from Poetic Bloomings asking for poems about fire.
Very distressing...but glad to read of the 'surviving.'
