When political charlatans
Divide and deceive the voters,
We all lose.
~~~ This poem was written both for the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads prompt of telling who won the election in 20 words or less and the Poetic Bloomings form prompt of writing a lune.
Perfect! And it is great that you brought forth "Don't tread on me," a revolutionary caution/threat. My "Win Win" says almost exactly the same thing, I think. Almost.
So true!
Yes, so true. It will be hard to make much progress forward, with the parties so divided.
Mary...so well said. The manner in which we go about governing ourselves is so backward from the truthful direction in which we should operate.
Mary, the polarization of BOTH major parties has been a major stumbling block to progress. Filibusters, posturing... I pray we can get past all of it and get some work done!
Lovely lune. That's one form dear to my heart. Take care, and remember... if we all stay on the phone to our reps, that's how change really happens! Love, Amy
True, so very true
... Let's hope each side is willing to take the masks off and get to work.
Our system is far from perfect--and so are all the other systems. This was an ugly campaign.
You even managed to put it in form.
Oh, yes, Mary...deceit and divisiveness might make for an uncomfortable four years, but here's hoping I'm wrong.
Hard to recognize the charlatans though when they wear such effective disguises.
wow, you are so right! This is exactly how I feel...I think we need an age limit to be in office. I know you have to be a certain age to start, but there needs to be a cut off on the other end~ Reminds me of those old Doctors that won't retire and won't listen to new ideas...augh!
Yes, may we move forward and work together...
the entirety of politics is just too depressing these days! great take on the prompts, though! {smile}
