Fashionable Torture

File:Stilettoheels.jpg  from Wikimedia Commons

Cinderella was a masochist,
With feet trapped in unforgiving glass
Merely to curry favor with a prince.
The lesson remains unlearned,
We teeter about in stiletto heels,
Suffering the origami-like
Folding of flesh and bone
Just to satisfy the gods of fashion,
Our anguished steps inducing pain
In bodies shifted out of alignment,
Sadistic devices that would make
The Inquisitors of old envious.

What would they say to know
That five hundred years later
Half the populace
Volunteers for torture?

Oh not me, give me flatties any day. I'd break my ankles in anything much higher than an inch and that, I already have
A fun and very TRUE read. Some women must love pain for, fashion.

I tend to have a hate-hate relationship with shoes...having to go shop for shoes is guaranteed to put me in a bad mood for days! Which is probably why I only own one pair lol. What I wouldn't give for cute, COMFORTABLE shoes in my size!

Goodness they are torture indeed ~ I can't wear those high heels anymore ~

Give me some flats or just an inch hell and I am fine the whole day ~

Happy Sunday ~

I NEVER got high heels OR pointed toes! No way would I EVER put myself through this kind of torture...even in YOUNGER years.

Ugh... can't stand those heels. I'm tall, so never have really worn them. I can barely walk in them.
