Misty's Song

When our angel lost her smile
And gained her heavenly wings,
Tears of heartache washed away
The joy a baby brings.

We know God has his reasons
But we all still wonder why
A baby’s life could end so soon
And leave us here to cry.

Her loving joyful spirit
Put a smile on every face.
Now she smiles for Jesus
In that special sacred space.

When we finally join her,
We’ll be greeted with a kiss,
When we all go home to heaven
And we see our “Little Miss.”

Misty was the daughter of two dear friends of mine, one of those delightful babies who always had a smile on her face and was happy to cuddle up to anyone. Losing her was devastating to a whole lot of people and we miss her every day.

What a sweet poem in memory of such a dear one. I like that the poem ends on a happy note. How could a parent face this kind of loss without the promise of heaven?

I always hate to hear of babies dying, but I do believe that we'll see them in heaven. Have you ever read Heaven is for Real?

Oh, Mary, this is heartbreaking. I cannot imagine how horrible it must have been for the parents to have lost such a sweet little one.

I'm so glad she got lots of cuddles in her short life, and that she brought joy to many people. A short life, well lived, is not lived in vain.
A lovely poem, Mary. Thank you for sharing something of Misty with us.

There is nothing so heartbreaking as the loss of a child, so difficult to put into words. It must be a solace to many wo knew Misty to have the comfort of your verse.

Hello
Lovely tribute to a beautiful baby. Even though her life was cut way too short, at least her parents can take some comfort in the few months she was a treasure in their lives.
Beautiful share Mary. Thanks.

A Cheerful Glance

Such a sad poem, with the pictures of the beautiful baby. The rhyme somehow drove the feeling home. I'm sorry for your loss.
